Dear father, On this blessed day, we lift our hearts to You, recognizing the light that shines within us, for You have called us to be the light of the world.

Thanks, Sir, for choosing us and granting us the privilege of reflecting Your light amidst the darkness that surrounds us.

May we be like a city set on a hill, unable to be hidden. May our faith be visible to all around us, lighting the way, dispelling fears, and guiding the lost back to You.

Lord, fill us with the Your Holy Spirit, so that the light of Your love may shine through us, in words and actions, in gestures of kindness and compassion.

May our testimonies be like beacons of hope, showing others the path that leads to You.

Help us not to hide Your light, but to share it generously with everyone around us, especially those who are going through difficult times.

May our life be a reflection of Your unconditional love, revealing the beauty of Your grace and mercy.

Sir, may Your light shine within us so brightly that there is no room for darkness in our lives. Enable us to be instruments of Your love, bringing hope and comfort to all those who cross our path.

That Your blessing accompany us in every step we take, protecting us and keeping us under Your wings. May we experience the fullness of the blessed life that You have for us, living in constant communion with You.

Thank you, Lord, for loving us unconditionally and caring for us at every moment.

May Your light continue to shine in us and through us, for the glory of Your name. Amen.

Who was Matthew?

Matthew was one of the twelve apostles chosen by Jesus to be his disciple and follower during his earthly ministry.

Before he was Jesus, Matthew was Levi, a tax collector in Capernaum. When Jesus met him, Matthew promptly left everything to follow the Master.

Matthew is known for having written the first Gospel of the New Testament, also called the Gospel according to Matthew.

His Gospel was written for a Jewish audience, emphasizing the relationship between Jesus and the prophecies of the Old Testament, demonstrating how Jesus is the promised Messiah.

Matthew was also one of the apostles who witnessed the miracles, teachings and resurrection of Jesus.

He played a crucial role in spreading the gospel after Jesus' ascension, sharing the message of salvation and redemption with people of different backgrounds and cultures.

Matthew is an inspiring example of how God can transform lives and use them to fulfill His divine purpose. His story reminds us of the importance of leaving everything to follow Jesus and sharing the gospel with boldness and faith.

May we follow Matthew’s example by giving our lives to the Lord and proclaiming the good news of His kingdom to all those around us.
